From Semiconductor Engineer to Panoramic Photographer
Eleven years ago, I was an Asia-Pacific engineer at an Israeli semiconductor equipment company. Years of business travel took me across Asia, but also taught me one thing — every time I arrived at a hotel room, I'd realize I should have brought an extension cord, a power adapter, a clothesline, or that the window view was stunning and I regretted not bringing a tripod.
What you see on websites and what you experience in person — there's always a gap.
After leaving the semiconductor industry, I settled back in my hometown Hualien. Hualien is a small place, with its economy highly dependent on tourism. Five years ago, a chance encounter through a friend introduced me to a 360° panoramic camera, opening a completely new door.
I started self-learning from foreign photographers' tutorials on YouTube, progressing from entry-level Insta360 action cameras to DSLR with fisheye lens panoramic photography, mastering professional stitching techniques, and finally building complete interactive virtual tour systems with Pano2VR. This journey took five years — every step was figured out on my own.

Why Virtual Tours?
After becoming a father, traveling with my child reinforced my belief: travelers don't need retouched glamour shots, they needauthentic space reproduction.
I want tourists to be able to "walk into" a B&B room before even arriving in Hualien — checking layout and equipment, planning attraction itineraries, knowing what gear to bring. These are all frustrations I've experienced myself while traveling.
Reducing the gap between expectations and reality — that's why I started making virtual tours.
